Mae stepped out of the shower soaking wet into the steamy bathroom. She picks up her necklace which says love with a loopy l, out of a white gold trim dish on the sink. She clasps it around her neck feeling the cold silver metal resonate all over her chest alongside every droplet of water that runs down her body. She dries off using a warm dark teal towel fresh off the radiator. Once completely dry she puts on white underwear, a matching bra she pulls on a navy blue cable knit cropped jumper and a black pair of denim jean shorts. Opening the bathroom door she is hit with a rush of cold air sending chills over her warm body and yet it was kind of pleasant, she angered through the house towel drying her hair till its not dry but damp and able to not drench her dry clothes.

She reached the living room and lent against the doorway watching her sister Vivian playing with her niece. Vivian looked up and noticed Mae, she joined her as their older sister Darla walks in with their nephew Charlie. Charlie goes and plays with Esther and Darla leans against the other side of the door frame, “Look how cute they are playing together.” says Vivian, “Hey when are you and Connor gonna tie the knot and have a kid?” asked Darla Vivian nodding along “with the way things are going he isn't going to be around much longer.” Mae replied, giving her sisters a look to say it's not my fault. Mae walks over to Charlie and Esther kisses them both on the forehead and then walks past her sisters and as she was walking up the stairs she could hear them talking, not quite able to work out what they were saying tho.

She closes her bedroom door, changes into puppy paw dark blue pjs, plates her dark brown midlength hair down the centre of her head, climbs into bed, pulls the duvet over her switches of the light with a remote and tried to sleep with no luck.

With no luck Mae gave up and decided to work out and by five am to five thirty she was exhausted enough to fall asleep right on her bedroom floor.

She woke up to Darla frantically shaking her, Mae felt groggly like she does when she wakes up from sleeping after taking a pill which usually doesn't work. “What's going on?” Mae asked bleary eyed, “I'll tell you what's going on Charlie and Esther have been taken and to be fully secure the people who took them managed to drug us in our sleep!” Darla cried, pulling Mae into a standing position. Darla dragged her to the kitchen where Vivian was sitting on a stool robotically drinking coffee staring out the window. “We have to look at this objectively. The main thing is we need to go to work and we can use their resources, we already know around what time they came in so we can work with that.” Mae stated trying to sound positive. “How do we know what time they broke in?” asked Vivian, “I fell asleep on the floor around five thirty in the morning so it must have been around half an hour later to be completely sure I was asleep.” Mae said matter of factly. Vivian and Darla didn't seem as happy with the minimal start they had. Darla took to pacing, "I'm going to get dressed you two should as well, we are not going to work in pjs.” Mae said as she walked off back up the stairs, once in her room she started to change. she put on a white and black stripped top, black jeans and a black leather motorcycle jacket, as she was re plaiting her hair the front door opened and closed three times almost with a perfect 15 second interval, she finished her hair picked a suitable pair of black boots and a pair of black cat eye sunglasses, and went to investigate who had come through the door.

Back in the kitchen, Darla's husband Connor, her boyfriend Alfie, and Vivian's husband James were all back from business, “Viv did Esther go in alright?” James asked, “She went in alright Charlie took her under his wing and they already have a new best friend and they are staying at the friends house for two nights. I already took the clothes over for them.” Vivian answered, trying to sound believable. They seemed satisfied “Girls we should get to work,” said Darla, “You guys look co-ordinated with your black, blue, white jeans and the black leather jackets and black boots if it wasn't for vivians short hair Darla’s bangs and your different coloured tops you would almost look like triplets,” interjected Connor. Mae laughed and then walked out the kitchen followed by her sisters grabbing keys, opened the front door and they yelled, “Bye,” simultaneously. Mae made sure everyone was outside before closing the door behind them. They clambered into Darla's 5 seater mini convertible and drove off.

They reached the office building, walked past everyone, put their finger print in for the lift. It slowly climbed down the floor numbers before it reached the ground floor and the doors opened. Five to seven people got out making the lift empty as they entered the doors closed. They punched in a secret code 4839207 and the lift doors shut smoothly and quietly and they felt as it started to go down.

When the lift came to a final halt at the lower restricted floors and the doors opened, they were met with the hustle and bustle of their office the room was filled with white cubicle dark green carpet and the walls were filled with bulletin boards packed with photos newspaper articles, leaflets, and documents all connected by red yarn, with dim lighting it looked right out of a police detective movie.
As they made their way purposefully to the other side of the room, conversations stopped as they passed, turning heads, “Nobody’s seen us go straight back here before together, do you think they are worried?” Vivian whispered in Mae’s ear as they reached the door. Darla held it open as they filed into the pitch black hallway, “They seriously need to get better lightning,” Darla groaned as the faint hum kicked in creating just enough light to see each other. At the end the hallway split two ways they took the right had way and followed the the corridor lined with doors until they reached the final door which Mae opened and once all inside Darla locked it behind them Vivian rang the bell on the small round table in the middle of the room which had nothing other than lined walls of floor to ceiling white wood units filled with books. There was no where to sit and so after standing there for a while in the silence Mae took to perusing the shelves there weren’t many books she recognised the obvious shakespeare classics were there but nothing else remotely recognisable she was sure there were uneven some in French, Russian, Portuguese, and even Latin. To no surprise one of the units swung inwards and an old lady walked into the room she was hunched over supported by a metal cane and wearing a knitted hat, round glasses, a green floral dress with a red cardigan, and a layered pearl necklace. “Good morning Agnes,” they said in unison, “Good morning girls, we haven’t seen you all at once since you started, is there something wrong?” Agnes asked in her frail concerned voice, “Nothing we cannot handle," Vivian reassured, “No doubt that you can't handle it,” she said and then like she remembered why they were all there said, “He will see you now,” she then turned back through the now doorway implying them to follow her.

The book case closed automatically once they were all through and they followed Agnes into a conference room which had a long laminate wood table surrounded by chairs which were all taken up other than five, everyone was dressed in suits or business wear looking towards a screen, they were all female and everyone had their hair up except the single male who had short hair and was looking towards the three girls who had now made their presence known due to the fact Darla had coughed impatiently. “Ahh Darla, Mae, Vivian take the empty seats.” one of the females said, it was hard to make out which one had addressed them as still none of them had turned to acknowledge that they were there.

Taking the three seats closest to where Agnes now sat Mae looked towards the screen which was a spinning world map with multiple red pin points. The female opposite Darla spoke, “How do you expect us to hit every location if we have limited resources and we can’t communicate with half of the international links?” having no idea what meeting they had walked in on they kept quiet even though this question had started an uproar of muttering. Silencing the communications was someone they all recognised Roxanne Fox one of the best in their corporation and probably in the south coast division. “Settle down, settle down,” she called, "I know we all have concerns about our overseas friends and co-workers but we cannot let that stop us from doing the work that is needed, we will just have to make do.” She nodded toward another colleague Mae recognized Tessa Quinn, she was Mae’s partner on one of her first missions and they had bonded and were like best friends for life now. “We can divide our divisions to make up for the lost ones and just have to make do with the depleted numbers.” Tessa had taken the nod as an invitation and it had not been rescinded so she carried on, “And anyway we have people working on it so we should have communications by Friday week counting on the links also being repeated on the other end.” When she finished everyone was nodding. “Okay im glad we have a plan now knox, reen, sterling, holt, and shaw i want you to give share of your divisions to your second high officer and send them to the locals while you take your sets to the international locations and then report to the head of that country. If anything happens or there are any issues contact us immediately and if no contact is made return here immediately, have I made myself clear?” Everyone nodded and then the male at the table stood up. It was Rupert Ashford, one of the highest commanders, “I need Quinn and Graves to stay, the rest of you can go.” he said.

Everyone except Tessa and the three girls filed out of the room. “Where is Graves?” Tessa whispered in Mae’s ear, “I have no idea he is always late, he's going to get in trouble again!” Mae whispered back. As if Ashford could hear their conversation he asked the same question to the room, “Where is Graves!” he was growing impatient Agnes then came back into the room followed by, “Graves! That’s the fifth time you have been late to see me this week and it's only Tuesday!" Ashford yelled as he sat across from the girls and Agnes left as quickly as her cane would carry her.

“Now that you five are here there is a specific mission which I need you to carry out.” Ashford started, but Darla had clearly let her nerves get the better of her and cut him off, “I’m sorry but that won’t be possible. We have our own mission and we only came in to borrow resources.” Tessa looked shocked at the interruption as nobody would ever cut off Ashford, Graves marveled at her, even he wouldn’t have dared. What worried Mae was the lack of reaction from Ashford himself, he calmly addressed her, “What mission would that be Darla, that you feel is more important than the missions we have to assign?”
Vivian was the one to cut him off this time, “Only the fact that one of the awful organisations you have us taking down has taken Charlie and Esther, are children!”
Nobody spoke for a while after that and the silence was heavy.
“Which organisation do you suspect it is?” Graves asked, swinging back in his chair.
“There were no clues left at the house. We did a sweep which means it was an inside job, they knew us and our sleep schedules and the house layout which helped them bypass the security system so we are working against the best.” Vivian continued
