The year was eighteen fifty seven.
Marie sat on the edge of her bed, braiding her best friend’s ebony black hair, her own curly light brown hair tied back from her face in a bun.
By modern standards she was young, merely twenty one years of age.
She was muscularly built with a soft jawline and honey colored eyes that blinked rapidly when she talked.
She had already been married about a year and a half to a man by the name of Darcy Adrastus, whom she never had found quite that interesting.
Her best friend she did find interesting.
Her name was Rosafiere Lystra.
Rosafiere had pale, nearly grey skin, a strongly Greek nose, golden cat-like eyes and pin straight hair that never stayed tied back for long.
Marie tilted her head to look down at Rosafiere.
“Rose, why don’t you move into the sunlight? I’ve never seen you in the sunlight, not in all our years of friendship.”
She remarked.
“Oh, I burn very easily, Marie.”90Please respect copyright.PENANA8P4lETrD2x
Rosafiere said in response, glancing up at Marie.
Marie laughed.
“If you insist."90Please respect copyright.PENANAuSa9IZShaT
