She nodded. “I know.”

The boy swallowed. “What’s happening now?”

She didn’t answer.

They harmonized.

For the first time.

She gasped. “It’s not trying to erase me.”

The boy stepped closer. “Then what is it doing?”

She looked at him — really looked — and for the first time since her awakening, she felt something she hadn’t felt in chapters.

Fear.

Not of losing herself.

Of becoming herself.

“Mara,” the boy whispered, “what’s the Maker’s Paradox?”

She exhaled slowly.

“It’s the moment when the creator realizes they are also the creation.”

The world around them shimmered.

Not collapsing. Not dissolving. Not forbidding.

Aligning.

The sky aligned with her breath. The ground aligned with her heartbeat. The horizon aligned with her thoughts.

The boy stared at her, eyes wide. “Mara… are you making reality?”

She shook her head.

“No.”

She looked at her sphere — glowing with every anchor, every truth, every paradox she had survived.

“I’m choosing it.”

Lovingly.

Inviting her to step forward.

She stepped forward.

Her sphere brightened.

And Mara said:

not ending her.

The boy stared at her, awestruck. “So… what now?”

She smiled — small, tired, real.
