A cluster of white and black,

biceps constantly arresting;

his wings are by far the most elegant of them all.

How I envy his graceful

flying style: over mountains, rivers, forests,

and the occasional village.

A strapping, young bird he is,

he doesn’t need a hat to hide his red crown,

but a lady who smells of fresh fish and snow,

who is willing to monitor him as he flies.

I am everything he could want, a young chick

that has wings of her own.

We’ll have a kid; yes, a beautiful baby crane

that will have wings just like him.

We’ll name him Cailu,

no John,

no Sesami;

aw, what the heck;

time to go meet him,

but his wings are too distracting!
