After their meeting with principal Agnus, the trio and Rai went back to the Blackwood mansion to discuss their plans.
"Alright, so we have one month the train ourselves so that we can hold off against rovers which are silver ranked minimum and an emerald ranked bitch," Anas said.
The trio are again training with Val and Rai is training with Al and Amelia.
"Hey Val, bring one of your silver ranked mages here," Anas told Val. Val brought them each one silver ranked to help them. All of them fought the silver ranked mage and were actually doing well against them, though they still lost in the end.
"This is just pitiful, you can't even deal with one silver ranked, let alone a handful," Val said coldly.
"Hey Val, is there a way to improve an awakener's output quickly?" Nex asked.
"Well, there is one way. You can eat Cruels to get stronger quickly," Val said calmly.
"What? Eww, that's disgusting, who would eat a Cruel to get stronger?" Nex said with disgust.
"Well, actually there is a way to counter the flavor. You can drink milk to weaken the flavor, though you can still taste it," Anas said.
"Come on, let's all eat one, if we are going to protect Rai, then we shall consume as many Cruels as we need," Karasu said.
And so, the trio ate nothing besides Cruel corpses and drank gallons of milk for two weeks straight, Rai wanted to try a bite, but the trio refused to give her any.
After all of that torture, they each went on and fought five silver ranked mages and won with a high difficulty, their output increased significantly and their reaction speed allows them to react to bullets of electricity from Amalia.
"Now this is what we needed, we are so ready to fight them," Nex said.
"Not so fast. Sure, you guys can now fight with silver ranked mages, but how long can you guys last?" Val questioned and he decided to put them to the test, Nex lasted a bit under six minutes, Anas lasted five and a half minutes and Karasu barely got to six minutes, their new goal is now to improve their control and magic reserves.
"Come on, keep pushing!" Amelia yelled at Rai while Al was trying to calm Amelia down. Rai was already exhausted, yet she kept going, not wanting to be a burden on the trio.
"Master Rai, your body will not recover in time if you keep doing this, you need a break," Al said with a worried look, but Rai ignored his warnings and kept training.
"I will become a strong mage so that I won't be a weak link in their chain," Rai said with determination.
Al had no choice but to use his green magic to make trees and restrain Rai, then he knocked some sense into her, "You will be a burden if you can't even use your newly learnt abilities if you keep going like this. Please, master Rai, listen to me for once," Al said, this statement finally made Rai stop and rest, but she secretly did some light training in her room where no one was there to stop her.
After the final week of training, the trio were ready to take on the threats that will come. They managed to last longer than what they did last time, Nex is at seven and a half minutes, Anas is at seven minutes and Karasu is at eight minutes.
"Although it's not that long, it's only when we go all out," Anas said, still tired from the training.
"As long as we can protect Rai, it doesn't matter if we live or die," Karasu said.
"What? No, you guys also matter. Who will be my personal bodyguards if you are gone?" Rai asked with a bit of anger.
"Alright, so our plan is to just protect Rai, the teachers can easily handle the stronger rovers and what I assume is a pillar. We won't leave a five meter radius from her and we will only use long ranged attacks until the Cruels are near us. If there is a strong enemy on one of our sides, then the person will deal with it while the other two move back three meters," Anas explained to Karasu and Nex.
They all sit under a cherry blossom as they waited for the chaos.
"Anas, I can also help in the battle, put me into a part of your plan. You know I have gotten stronger now," Rai said while pouting.
"I guess you can shoot your heatwave beams even though they won't do too much to a rover, but that is all that you are doing. I know you want to help us, but it's just too dangerous for you," Anas said.
"Yeah, if you die during this, then the preparations we made to save you would become pointless," Nex said.
"I just want to do more because you are always helping me and—" before Rai can finish her sentence, a wormhole gate opened. A wormhole gate is basically a gate that shoots out Cruels in all directions unlike the one opening from a normal gate. The guards around the courtyard took the stance and the teachers were rushing to the scene. However, an invisible barrier was blocking them, only the trio, Rai and Mr Blaze were inside the barrier.
"Boys, get ready! Because we might lose an arm after this," Mr Blaze told them while the trio were concerned about the barrier.
"How can we get out of the barrier?" asked Karasu.
"We have to kill the caster. It's either the piller or one of its minions," Mr Blaze responded as he walked near the gate.
Then hundreds of rovers popped out from the gate and charged at Mr Blaze, but with just a snap of his fingers, most of them were already cremated.
"Luckily, the caster can only make the barrier, so if we see rovers protecting a Cruel, then there's a high chance that it is the caster," Anas said.
The trio followed Anas' plan as the surrounded Rai, rovers charged at them, but the trio killed them without problems. Anas also created a wall of sapphire spikes so that the rovers have to jump over the spikes and give an opportunity for the trio to kill them before they get too close.
Karasu also made blood moons to shoot rovers and support Mr Blaze who is trying his hardest to kill as many as possible.
Then out of nowhere, a green smoke cloud appeared and a part of the spike wall was destroyed with green ooze lingering around the area, it was the pillar.
"I think we all know not even all four of you combined can kill me, so just hand over her and no one will get hurt," the pillar said.
"In your dreams! Bite me BITCH!" Karasu lashed out.
"Over our dead bodies, you worthless hag!" Nex continued.
"If death is what you want, then death is what you will get," the pillar said. It shot out poison blobs at them, but Karasu didn't dodge and purposefully got hit while Nex blocked with a wall of bones, but the bones were slowly getting dissolved.
"Haha! One of your friends is dead already, so just give up," the pillar mocked. But just then, it saw Karasu still standing without a scratch.
Karasu shot blood into the air and formed a green moon and he shot the poison covered blood at it.
"How is that possible? The poison is supposed to dissolve anything it touched," the pillar questioned.
"You dumbass, I can use my own blood for my magic, so poisons don't affect me at all," Karasu said with a grin.
Just then, sapphire spikes came out from below and Karasu shot blood beams from the blood moons, but it wasn't effective on the pillar.
"Ugh, it doesn't matter. I can beat all of you without using any magic," the pillar said as it ran towards Karasu who is the closest one. Karasu stepped back a bit before creating blood slashes from his scythe. However, not even a single scratch was on the pillar and with one punch, it broke Karasu's scythe.
Mr Blaze tried to get to them, but a diamond ranked rover appeared in front of him and he was now stuck fighting it. He used Inferno and other tactics, but its skin was tough to burn. So, he decided to use another named attack, he put his index fingers into a cross and he shouted out "Crossfire!", it worked a bit, but it was still in good shape to fight.
It wasn't better for the trio, Karasu and Nex were locked on the pillar while Anas made falling sapphire to immobilize the weaker rovers. Rai tried her heatwave beam, but it wasn't strong enough to even hurt a weaken rover.
"This has gone long enough, it's time to end this," the pillar said. He swatted Karasu and Nex aside and tried to take Rai, but Anas used Megalodon and it swallowed the pillar and exploded in the sky, but it came back to the ground and severely poisoned Anas and knocking him out. Nex tried to restrain the pillar with whatever magic he had left, but the pillar easily broke the bone arms and it took Rai.
Mr Blaze seeing this from the corner of his eyes, decided to go all out. He covered himself in a raging ball of flames, the ground was burnt and even the rocks below the dirt were melting, he charged at the rover and shouting out "Flare Blitz!", streaks of fire followed his movements as he attacked the rover from different angles. However, the rover managed to bite off Mr Blaze's left arm, though he didn't mind it at all, thinking it was a necessary sacrifice. Finally he was under the rover as his last fist sent the rover into the sky with a column of fire. However, as he tried to move towards the pillar, he was exhausted and fainted.
As the pillar tried to leave, drops of a liquid fell on it. As the pillar looked at its hand, it saw that the liquid was blood. It looked back at Karasu, only to see him standing, as more blood fell from the sky, 7 orbs of blood appeared, Karasu with a psychopathic grin, shouted out "Crimson Rain!", then each orb shot out a beam of blood with an arrow shaped tip. Karasu controlled where each one shot at, making it hard for the pillar to dodge. It thought it can still escape until a beam shot towards the caster, the beam pierced through a few rovers which were trying to protect the caster. And finally, the barrier was destroyed. The guards and teachers immediately went in and captured the pillar and destroyed the gate.
In the corner of the courtyard, "Now this is interesting, they are not as strong as the pillar, but they are smarter than it. Maybe our battle will be more exciting than I expected," the figure from the forest said before it left.9Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡS4Bbue0rbj
