"Stop talking."

I walked over and handed him his notebook.

"You forgot this."

I smiled.

"I'll see you tomorrow."

As I walked away...

I could still hear his friends teasing him.

I couldn't make out every word.

But I heard one sentence clearly.

"You like him, don't you?"

The laughter that followed echoed down the corridor.
