The days continued as they always had.

In the morning...

I met Narin.

During class...

I studied.

After school...

I exchanged homework with Korn.

Life had settled into a quiet routine.

One afternoon, rain began pouring just as school ended.

Students gathered near the entrance, waiting for it to stop.

"I forgot my umbrella," Narin sighed.

"So did I."

He laughed.

"I guess we're stuck."

Just then, a familiar voice came from behind us.

"P'Phawin."

"P'Narin."

We turned around.

Korn was holding a large umbrella.

"You can borrow this."

Narin shook his head.

"What about you?"

"I live nearby."

"I'll be fine."

Before either of us could refuse again, Korn placed the umbrella in my hand.

"I'll get another one from the security office."

"It's okay."

"Take it."

He smiled.

Then walked back into the school building.

Narin opened the umbrella.

"Your junior is too kind."

"He always has been."

We walked home together through the rain.

For some reason...

I kept thinking about Korn.

He had gotten soaked...

Just so we wouldn't.

The next morning, I found Korn outside his classroom.

I handed the umbrella back to him.

"Thank you."

"You didn't have to return it so early."

"I wanted to."

He smiled.

"I'm glad it helped."

As I turned to leave, one of Korn's classmates called out,

"Korn!"

"You always help P'Phawin."

"Are you trying to become his personal assistant?"

The boys around him laughed.

Korn smiled awkwardly.

"It's nothing like that."

I laughed politely and continued walking.

I thought it was just harmless teasing.

But when I glanced back...

I noticed Korn wasn't laughing anymore.

He looked embarrassed.

And for some reason...

I felt embarrassed too.

I still didn't understand why.

Maybe...
